For Mother's Day- Carnations, the Flower of Love and Purity, they are sturdy and long-lasting
Some of my favourite memories of childhood are planting the garden with my mom. She taught me to dig the hole and fill it with water first, that way the roots of the seedling would go down. Having a tomato or two was a must, and mulching with grass clippings a practical tradition.
She loved the daisies, sturdy, cheerful faces that you can count on.
I loved the pansies, deep purple velvet with flashy yellow accents.
And I remember saying to my mother not long before she died, how amazing it is that plants grow from a seed and spread so profusely. She understood what I meant.
I love sharing the gardening traditions with my children. And I am still enjoying the wonder of life energy and growth in springtime.
Happy Mother’s Day!
