This Week's Little Life Notes From Me to You
This week started with 'Blue Monday", and there's a good reason it's called that! It was nice to be over the holiday hustle and reflect on the good times, but now the coldest, darkest months of the year are ahead of us.
Let it go! Observe the natural flow of your energy and let go of judgement. Feeling an ebb in motivation doesn't have to be a negative thing. It's part of the 'Hustle Culture' to consider business a virtue.
Give yourself permission to enjoy a slower pace and take this time to consider what your priorities truly are.
Here's How to Set Your Priorities for a Healthy, Active and Long Life by Frances Adamson
Ever wonder what sets apart those who effortlessly maintain good health and vitality? It's not some secret potion or magical routine – it's all about priorities.
Many years ago I visited a good friend who had a young child of 8 months and was glowing with peace and well-being. I asked how she was doing that and she said this: “As a mama bear, caring for Adam is my priority. Everything I do revolves around staying happy and healthy so I’m able to do that- I’m ruthless.”
Is it time for you to get ruthless with how you spend your time and energy?
The choices we make every day determine our path to a long and active life caring for the people who mean everything to us,
- Rethink "I Don't Have Time"
Many people often claim they don't have time to start a health routine, but let's be real – it's not about time; it's about priorities. Our lives are a juggling act of obligations, responsibilities, and distractions. So, how can we ensure that lifelong health stays at the top of our to-do list? It's a matter of setting priorities.
When you say you don't have time for your well-being, what you're actually saying is that it isn't a priority.
Let's dive into some clarity questions to uncover the root of your priorities:
- Gain Clarity on Your Health Priorities
- Identify Current Health Issues: What health challenges are you currently facing? Take a moment to acknowledge them.
- Assess Immediate Impact: Do these challenges have an immediate impact, or are they slowly building frustration over time?
- Family Health History: Consider the health experiences of your parents or loved ones. Have they faced injuries or illnesses that impacted their activities?
- Unfulfilled Desires: What health and happiness activities do you wish to incorporate but find yourself lacking time for?
By answering these questions, you gain valuable insights into your priorities. Maybe it's dealing with immediate health concerns, avoiding future frustrations, or learning from family experiences. Understanding your motivations is the first step towards setting clear health priorities.
- Make Your Health a Top Priority
Now armed with clarity, it's time to make health a non-negotiable priority in your life.
Instead of viewing it as an extra task, consider it an investment in your well-being.
Remember, it's not about making grand changes overnight. Start small, whether it's incorporating a nutritious snack, taking a short walk, or dedicating a few minutes to meditation. Gradually, these small actions will weave into your daily routine, making health a seamless part of your life.
Achieving a long and active life isn't reserved for a select few. It's about understanding your priorities and aligning them with actions that contribute to your well-being. So, let's shift from "I don't have time" to "I'm making time for what truly matters – my health and longevity." It's a journey worth embracing, one small step at a time.
