This Week's Little Life Notes From Me to You
September brings with it a sense of new beginnings, it's a time to reflect on the past season and to prepare for what lies ahead.
This summer, I didn't get started painting until the end of July. When I finally did start it was from a completely new place. I've switched to using pastels outdoors and it's so much easier than paint, all that 's needed is paper and pastels and there's virtually no clean-up, wonderful!
Many years ago I also put off yoga. There was a teacher in Toronto who was a leader in Viniyoga, a kind of yoga that is much more centered in breath and meditation than I had previously experienced. When I finally enrolled in her classes I regretted the two years I'd had lost by procrastinating.
Now I'm just glad I finally took initiative and did it. So if you've been procrastinating in learning yoga, I can only say that there's no time like the present. Just follow the link to set up an appointment and we'll your place.

Unlocking the Life-Changing Secrets of Yoga: A Student’s Journey
with Christine Elste
It can be difficult to describe the profound impact that yoga can have on an individual, so let’s hear the unique perspective of a dedicated yoga student, Christine Elste. Today she shares her thoughts and experiences on how yoga has transformed her life with us.
"Yoga gives you the pause you need to concentrate, be in your body, not in your head and thoughts. It focuses on doing good for your body within your limits."
As a massage therapist, Christine encounters the stress of everyday life that accumulates in the body’s of her clients regularly. She sees yoga as a practice that helps you focus on your body and step away from the constant chatter of your mind, creating a sanctuary from the chaos of modern life.
She explains how a consistent yoga practice provided a personal space for finding calm and grounding in a difficult time:
"During the pandemic, there was so much anxiety around. Yoga gave me a place to come back to my body and focus on only me for that moment in time."
In describing the benefits she’s received, Christine emphasizes the importance of body awareness, a central theme in yoga. She states, "We often neglect ourselves during the day. Yoga allows us to assess our body as we go through it, becoming more aware of its condition."
This heightened awareness, she believes, helps us make better choices in our daily lives.
These choices may range from taking some extra time to rest, finding a way to burn off steam during emotional times, and recognizing when injury or illness require extra attention and energy. To put this in perspective-
Christine navigated life-changing injuries and yoga has been integral part of her journey to wellness.
It’s clear that creating a space in life for self-discovery, inner peace, and joy has a holistic effect on one’s whole being, helping to heal on the physical level as well. It's a path which encourages you to take time for yourself, become more aware of your body, and access your self-healing abilities.
If Christine's perspective has inspired you to explore yoga in your life or deepen your existing practice then let's explore what you want to change for yourself. Remember, yoga is a journey, and the benefits become more profound over time. Whether you're dealing with everyday challenges or facing a major life crisis, yoga can be your tool for comfort and joy.
