This Week's Little Life Notes From Me to You
I came across this quote today about caring for our bodies and thought you would appreciate it.
“Most of us still need to learn how to take care of our physical body. We need to learn how to relax and how to sleep. We need to learn how to eat and consume in such a way that our body can be healthy, light, and at ease. If we listen carefully, we can hear our body telling us all the time what it needs and does not need. -THICH NHAT HANH
It's a great quote because it describes the foundation of health and happiness. No matter what the demands of life are, your passions which make it fulfilling and the responsibilities you have, your source of power to accomplish everything is your body. Take care of your body, listen to it, so you can be the change you want to see in the world today.
The Most Important Thing Happy, Calm People Do to Stay that Way. by Frances Adamson

Whether you’re facing a build up of difficult situations that take their toll with aches and pains, grief, and frustration, and one more thing will tip you into feelings of being overwhelmed, or whether you’re dealing with a major life crisis, there's one practice that can bring you back to calm.
It’s possible to work with your body and brath to create comfort and joy in your day.
Wendy was active and busy, loved gardening and crafting, and found that she was stiff and sore afterwards because she would become so involved in her activities she forget to get up to move around. She was also the primary visitor of her mother who had dementia and was in a home.
Wendy’s busy life situation was impacting her health and relationships.
It didn’t take much for her to feel overwhelmed on top of the aches and pains she attributed to aging. What she needed and wanted was to feel more comfortable physically and to be able to care for her mother compassionately even when she felt stressed.
Here’s how Wendy built a foundation for health to reduce pain for herself and to care for her family.
“I’ve been taking part in a Joy Core Yoga and Meditation Program with Francie for mental wellness, strength, and health for some time now. We’ve built on some simple moves, an easy twist, a two-minute relaxing movement, and focused breathing practices. After a lesson with her I feel pumped and ready to go!
This one breathing exercise we learned is so helpful I use it all the time when I’m stressed.
Like during my last dental surgery session. This last surgery was so much better for me, I was totally relaxed before the five needles. Recovery was better too.” -Wendy Lockett
When it comes happiness, it helps to understand that the emotions are in the body. Feeling good involves the hormones and nervous system, and every cell in your body.
Our approach is to work with your body to create the physical conditions which arise when you are happy.
You can earn and use tools which stimulate the nervous system to create more joy in the present moment no matter what you’re facing.
When you alter your body’s heart and breathing rate in specific ways, the mind will become calm, helping you to in everyday life. These tools can also be used to approach difficult or overwhelming situations with the intention of meeting them from a place of peace and strength.
In the Joy Core Program Yoga Program we use yoga, breathwork and meditation in one practice.
It’s a very efficient means of promoting the conditions in your body and mind which support feeling joy.
If you want instant results you won’t be disappointed, when you continue with yoga you’ll build an ever stronger foundation of happiness and the effects on your state of mind and health will become deeper over time.
How would your life be different if you had the tools to shift your body and energy to a state that made you feel good when things are tough?

HEALTH RESOURCE "Two Minute Breathing Exercise"
For many of the people I encounter that are struggling with stress, overwhelm, and physical or mental pain, practicing this two-minute breathing exercise can minimize or even eliminate that struggle on demand.
Sit on the edge of your chair with your spine nice and strait. Take a deep breath in and hold it as you count to two. Let the breath out and as you do count slowly until you finish the exhale. Hold your breath and count to 2.
Repeat this and see if with every second breath you can add a second onto the exhale. Take 7 or 8 breaths this way and then let your breath return to its regular rhythm, just noticing the rise and fall of your chest.
It’s amazing how in a few moments you can reset yourself using this simple but powerful tool.
I hope this helps you understand the how I help people in case you, or someone you know, is struggling with the busy demands of the modern world.
